Tee Tee & Poo Poo - It's amazing what a sticker will do!

These are the bathroom words we chose to use at our house. There are a whole slew of choices such as #1 & #2, Wee Wee & Woo Woo, Pee & Poop, Tinkle & Pooing and the list goes on. With that said we are potty training (kinda). Isabella has been interested in the potty and actually told us and used it for the first time in February. Sporadically she would let us know she needed to go and use the Big Girl Potty, until this past week. Last weekend while we were in Houston I found Barney reward stickers and before leaving she had been asking for Emo (Elmo) panties and I found really cute girly ones at Target. So when we got home I showed her the panties and she was super excited and wanted to wear them right away. I told her that when she went in the big girl potty she could wear them. Then I showed her the stickers and she was SOOOO excited. Our deal is 1 sticker for Tee Tee and 2 for Poo Poo. Everyday last week she received at least 1 sticker a day! This evening she received 3 at one time!! We were so excited for her and she placed one on her usual spot on her thigh and one on the back of each hand and had to get on the phone and tell Grammie all about it.

So if you see my kiddo with stickers on her body that look as if they are about to fall off, she will let you know, don't touch them. She is very proud of her stickers and will wear them till they absolutely have no sticky left. This is then the encouragement to get another.

I am not forcing the potty training issue because she is stubborn like her mommy & daddy and as long as we are making progress the way it's going, she will do it on her own time and I'm not thinking it's too far off!!

While on the potty discussion, I'll give a good laugh to some of you, especially those of you who have known me since I was Isabella's age! Growing up I did lots of babysitting and changed many of diapers, in one instance I was watching twins and had one take his diaper off and smear poop EVERYWHERE!! I mean EVERYWHERE!! I just thought this was gross until I had a child of my own. I was pooped on when she was a baby, she's pooped on my car seats, I've cleaned poop up from where my own child has taken off and dumped her diaper but why after 27 months of poop free baths does my child decide it's ok to poo poo in the tub?? I do believe that wet poop in the tub is probably the GROSSEST thing I have ever encountered involving children and their potty habits. Yes Will, cleaning poop off the walls in your old house was bad until I had my own child but you will still forever be remembered!!

I'll have to tell Linda about this blog so she can read it to Will!! As a 15-year-old, I'm sure he will LOVE it!! ;-)
