Pictures, Garage Sale & Falling Off The Horse

4 Generations

Such an Angel!

Isabella LOVES her Great-Grandmother!!

My Grandmother in her pretty dress from my brother's wedding!

"Pretty Dress Grandmother"

For a month now my grandmother has been hounding my mom and I to take her and have her picture made in her dress she wore to my brother's wedding and a 4 generations picture. So Thursday evening we went and had pictures made. I think it was the quickest picture session we have had in a long time! For something that was halfway thrown together, I think the pictures turned out pretty good as well, except Isabella was hiding her big smiles for a future photo session!

All of Friday was spent pulling my beloved crap out of storage, pricing and setting things up hoping it would become someones treasures on Saturday. With 10 signs for our only advertisement, Saturday we had a Backyard Sale at Ricky's house in Lubbock. It didn't seem like we had a huge turn out but the traffic was steady. We started at 8:30 and started putting things up around 1. It was getting way too hot to be outside in the sun and not be sitting pool side. After 4.5 hours it didn't seem like it was much of an accomplishment but as we started separating things to be donated and things to hold for another sale in a a month or two, there wasn't much leftover compared to what we put out. We had many things priced below $1. Such as underwear that one lady bought! My mom had told me they would sale and I didn't believe her, so I put some in the sale and sure enough at 25 cents a pair, one lady bought $3 worth!! ICK!!!! After all said and done, we made about $88 and Ricky made about $45. Not bad...i was hoping for $100 but $88 is more than what I had when I started and hopefully with a little more advertisement and a 2 day sale maybe in a few months I can double what we made. And after that last hoorah...it's ALL going to donation or the dumpster and others will have to search a little further than Ricky's backyard for my treasures!!!

Our crap waiting to become someones treasure!
Isabella kept herself entertained by trying on the underwear...they were skirts, tube tops, hats, you name it....she was having a ball and cracking us up!

Ricky also joined in the fun by trying on and striking a pose in some of my clothes that were for sale!!

This was not an uncommon site of Alan...he kept lounging on the couch that was for sale...this time Isabella just happen to have gotten caught with him but only because she wanted his hat and sunglasses!!

Massive Zucchini that my mom grew in her alley!! We had this for lunch along with some Tequila Lime Steak after the sale! YUMMY!!!

Dressed For Church--She actually made it through the whole sermon without having to go to the nursery this Sunday!!!
So I'm guessing you are wondering what the "Falling Off The Horse" is all about...well no one fell except for me falling off the diet wagon for the summer and gaining 5 lbs. Alan and I have been doing Weight Watchers since the first of the year and have actually been very successful. Alan is currently on maintenance on his way to being a lifetime member and he looks great. I have lost over 30 lbs but it is still a far cry from what I need to lose. This summer has been exceptionally hard being away from home and not being in town on Saturday's to attend the meetings. As crazy as it may sound, I need the meetings to keep me accountable, on track and losing weight! Hopefully since our schedule has slowed down and we have nothing on the calender for a month or more then maybe I can get back into the swing of things. I've been trying for the past two weeks to hit it hard and it's just taking me some time to get things in order and get back on the diet like I should! So starting this coming Saturday I AM HITTING IT HARD...I'm going to eat my points, drink my fiber drinks & water and try to eat dinner as close to 6pm as possible and hopefully I will have some very exciting results in the weeks to follow! We also miserably failed at our Wii Active 30 day challenge so that is another thing we plan to make time for. It's not something that we just hated it's just something that took time and we let other things take precedence over it. Just keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we push forward on making our family thinner and healthier!
