From Ballet Shoes & Tutu's to Balls, Bats, Gloves & Dirt

In August of last year we signed Isabella up for her first year in ballet.  She absolutely LOVED it.  Although she is sometimes my little tomboy she never wanted to go to ballet without a tutu on.  They worked all year for one recital which was put on in May (the day after we brought baby sister home from the hospital).  Her age group performed 2 acts and they were absolutely adorable.  I'm so glad timing worked out and I was able to be at her first dance recital.  She received an award with only a select few for having perfect attendance in practice.  Although, for part of the year it meant us driving from Wilson to have her here, we did it.  She also got congratulated for becoming a Big Sister in front of the whole auditorium of people.  Wish you could have seen the huge smile on her face.  She is truly proud of her little sister.  And we are truly proud of our little ballerina Isabella!!

We signed Isabella up for T-ball which ran the end of April - the first of June, this is the first year for 3-4 yr old and let me tell you, it's interesting.  She was on the Bandits and her daddy started out as the assistant coach but became one of the coaches that coached the team by committee.  I think they ended up having approx. 10 games.  As the season came to an end a few weeks ago, Isabella had vastly improved on her understanding of the game and definitely had mastered hitting the ball.  Maybe next year we can master catching/stopping the ball.  She was extremely sad to see T-ball come to an end.  She didn't want to go to the awards ceremony because she wanted to play another game and didn't want it to be over.  That $40 was definitely well spent and I guess we will be doing it again next year.
